lol no, the nobility were either branches of the royal family, members of the imperial court, or families with hereditary titles. war hero is not a hereditary title.

if you are wealthy enough you can buy and own land, but you can't buy a title.

yes, she was from a lower class, the class called "not being a member of the royal family or a member of a family with hereditary titles". commoners can be rich and buy land, but unless her family were members of the imperial court or had hereditary titles that are passed down through generations, she was a commoner.
