Are waffles really that tasty?

WHAT are croutons?

What does Tweak mean?

Waffles are fucking amazing. You put butter and syrup on them and sometimes other toppings and they're all kept in the squares of the waffles and then you eat them. It's like a crispy pancake with slots in it.

Croutons are basically stale bread seasoned and baked. You put them on salad and it makes it crunchy.

Tweak means to change very slightly. Think frosting the final flower on a cake or spell checking an already edited story.

Tweak can also mean like "tweaking out," meaning high or out of it, if you're using slang.

Fresh diner waffles are the food of the gods. (Again, they must be diner waffles. Because try as you might, you will never be able to make that level of delicious awesome in your home.) And if you are lucky, some diners will pair waffles up with fried chicken. Yes, chicken and waffles is a thing in the US. Mostly a Southern/East Coast thing.

Croutons are tiny, edible Borg ships for salads.

"Tweak" has a few meanings in America. It can mean to "alter" or "change for the better." As in, "I am just going to tweak this wire on this machine and....there. It's fix." Or "tweak" can mean, "to be high." As in, "Aw, man he's tweaking on 'shrooms". Get him down from the drapes before he breaks his neck." A "tweaker" is a junkie. Usually it refers to a meth junkie. But, again, it can mean a general junkie.

I like all waffles. DON'T DISCRIMINATE AGAINST MY EGGOS ;)

Chicken and waffles is really popular in the south, I agree.

(I am american and I didn't know that about tweaking! Thank you for that info.)

I would like to say that I live in southern Alabama (which is really, REALLY south) and have never heard of chicken and waffles?

I'm sure if you google your town, you can find a diner or mom and pop place that sells it.

Personally, I grew up in Va and am currently now in NC and we have it here. And it's really big in the Soul Food places in NYC and DC from the times I have visited there.

It's more Georgia and the Carolinas where chicken and waffles is a thing. West of Georgia we tend to do chicken and biscuits instead.

Although Roscoe's is in L.A., and it's the most famous chicken and waffle place I know of . . .

1. Yes. Yes they are. And you can even make them out of cake.

2. Old bread that has been cooked to make them crunchy.

3. I have no idea. :)

Waffles are the shit. Seriously.

Also, you can make them out of cake.

That automatically makes them awesome.

YES, waffles rock. But ignore the 'cake waffle' people - too sweet! Waffles should be only *mildly* sweet, and crisp on the edges. Butter, syrup, big glass of orange juice - yes!

Croutons are very tasty - they make seasoned ones you can buy in the store for your salads, but they're always these big chunky squares that are a little hard to eat. The local 'Ruby Tuesday' makes them out of pumpernickel bread, and they are delicious.
