I'd say it all depends on where and how you want to role play. Me for example only do one on one role plays, and over email. I've done a lot of rp's, but I have no idea how roleplaying on LJ is.

When I first started out, I thought that doing one on ones was easier, because I only had to deal with one person.

If you're interested in group-role play, then I'm not much help as I don't ever role play in groups anymore (too many people and things in general to keep track of for me).
