(Random question, how can you tell that the rabbit is scared? After twelve years, I'm great at picking up cat body language, but I've never had a rabbit...)

I'm sure there are ways to tell - like it's being very still and quiet-looking - but for me it's just something I picked up raising rabbits for a few years when I was a kid. (As for cats, I've had them most of the last 36 years, so they're pretty easy to read.)

Mom brought home my first kitten when I was four. She had one small litter of kittens the next spring, that Mom found homes for and had her spayed - she ran off when I was about 13, after we'd moved to a new place. My sister and I had a few more cats over the years at home (which Dad took over after we left for school), and I've had three cats in the almost 20 years since college. One of my two right now I've had since he was born, and he'll be 16 in March. :-D

Heh, old man! Our oldest cat is nearly eleven, but she's definitely already a grumpy old lady who has very little time for the whippersnappers, heh. Another is nine and a half and pretty chill, and the youngest is seventeen months. We're also looking after another one (nearly eleven months) for a few more weeks until he goes to his new owner. (Which... will be a very good thing, he's a major handful and plays way too rough with the seventeen-month-old, who might be older, but he's also timid as hell.)

I adopted a younger stray cat four and a half years ago and it was NOT a pleasant adjustment period - we had spraying, fighting, biting, clawing, argh. They get along OK now, but I never want to do THAT kind of adjustment again.

We had the opposite, unfortunately >.< When he was a bit smaller, a few months ago, the two boys were the best of friends - playing together, sleeping together, grooming each other, everything. But as the younger one began getting older, he started becoming... a bit of a bully :(

We try to get around it by letting the older one stay in my room as much as he wants, and we seperate them as soon as the younger one starts getting rough. But yeah, I'll be glad when he's with his new owners.
