but I don't honestly find Sherlock's plots any more plausible than I found Elementary's

lmao are we the same person??? i still have no idea what any of the motivations behind asib were & some parts of tgg/trf made me tilt my head. i feel as if sometimes the writers purposefully try to make things unclear so that a viewer walks away with "oh man that was really well done even though i didn't really quite get what was happening but that's probably because i was too stupid to understand what was happening in the episode but i'm not going to admit that i didn't get it because everyone else was probably smart enough to get it" when in reality nope, just questionable writing. i love most of the characters & the artistic qualities of the show and also the creative way fandom has expanded the source material but sometimes the canon just exasperates me. /o\

YES ALSO I LOVE HOW ELEMENTARY ISN'T TAKING ITSELF SERIOUSLY AT ALL. :DDDDD i'm actually intrigued by some of the inconsistencies in his character we've seen so far: the way he pushes at the witness vs. the way he censors himself at first with joan re: not being a surgeon any more. i really think (or at least i hope!) that the reason why he left london were a lot more complex than being ~burned by a woman~ and i'm also hoping that the circumstances surrounding joan's departure from being a surgeon are also going to be explored more because there has to be something else there--you don't get your medical license stripped unless something big happened since doctors, esp surgeons, pay out their eyeballs for malpractice insurance. plus competent!joan picking up on clues aslkdjfaklsd i love this show already *_______* and i think i'm okay with joan being kind of stoic for now because i'm hoping that as she trusts sherlock more, she'll also start to open up. if the pilot follows fairly soon from when she was dismissed, it makes sense to me that she'd be fairly closed off and retreating into herself to deal with depression & feelings of inadequacy. it might end up being a parallel to bbc--sherlock pulling john/joan back into having a purpose and enjoying life again--i think saw a glimpse of that when holmes was in jail actually, when she was looking at him and demanding to be let in on his plans.

tl;dr - I THINK I'M FAR TOO INVESTED IN A SHOW WHERE I'VE ONLY SEEN THE PILOT LEAK /o\

YES GOOD SUBSTITUTE HOLMES EXPERIENCE UNTIL I FIND MY REAL LIFE ONE
