K, first off just want to put it out there that I haven't read ADWD yet and apparently am not going to until March since the PB release was pushed back.

Anyway, Cersei/Jaime is definitely my OTP but both of them are clearly different people than they were at the beginning, especially Jaime. And yeah, it's definitely not a healthy relationship in the SLIGHTEST (which, let's face it, is probably why I love it).

That said, I personally think that the plot was really rushed in AFFC (apparently there was going to be a timeskip originally but GRRM realized the Stark kids were too young and it would really mess their development up which I honestly do agree with but it meant Cersei's storyline got fucked up). This is a relationship that has latest their entire lives, I really don't believe that it would fall apart as fast as it did (I would totally have been on board with it if the timing had been over several years though).

My personal hope for the end of that particular ship is for them to at least see each other again before one or both of them die horribly, as I'm sure will happen since this is ASOIAF after all.

Also I hate Brienne but mostly because IMO she is one of the most boring characters in the books, though I also found the Brienne/Jaime pairing forced 99% of the time (the bath scene was the 1 exception). Really hoping that it might play out better in the show than it did in the books because GRRM really isn't very good at writing developing romance.
