Have you seen Haywire, anon? I know it's not really fair, because Gina Carano is an MMA star, but hell plenty of the action stars from the 80s and 90s (Van Damme, etc.) were martial arts experts in addition to actors. It's fucking awesome. She uses real moves, and - it's painfully apparent - really could kick the asses of those extras if she was actually using them rather than pulling punches.

Unfortunately, this is part of a whole lame attitude Hollywood has toward female action stars, in general. Dude scores a role in an action film? Works out, gets martial arts training. Woman does? Goes on a diet, gets a pair of spike heels. Both make her role less convincing, while the male lead's make him more. It sucks ass. At the very least the choreographer could show their heroine how to use a fucking gun.

The plot of the story is lacking but hell I just watch Haywire to see Gina kick serious butt.
