Notes:

Important: I'm really sorry about this, but I accidentally misclicked and deleted the submission post from last week instead of saving it. Managed to save the first page (25) of secrets, but the rest (about 100 or so) are gone.

If you submitted something last week (Aug 26-Sept 1), please resubmit it here.

The submissions post for next week is below as usual.

FOOD: DO NOT WANT?!

(Anonymous) 2012-09-06 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
So. For the past 5 days or so, I haven't actually felt hungry. I've eaten, because I know that I have to or bad things will happen. But I haven't really wanted to.

Is this something I should be concerned about? I haven't been experiencing anything else out of the ordinary, and like I said, I'm still eating an appropriate amount of food. It's just...weird.

I don't know if it's normal or not, but that happens to me occasionally. I just don't feel hungry, but I eat because I'm supposed to. Or, sometimes I get the opposite where I'm really hungry and no amount of food makes me feel full. Other weird food related things: last week, there were a few days where I absolutely could not stomach dairy. I was right in the middle of eating some ice cream and all of a sudden the taste and thought of milk products was the most disgusting thing in the world.

I chalk it up to hormones. I usually go back to normal after two days to a week.

I think you should see a doctor if this lasts more than two weeks. In the mean time, get enough rest, sleep regularly, be physically active and stay hydrated. Maybe having a regular bodily rhythm will make the hunger pangs come back.

This happens to me sometimes. Normally when I'm less physically active than usual. I wouldn't think it's anything to be concerned about on its own, but if you start noticing other things you might want to watch out.

I've had this problem a lot. It's worse when when you do feel hungry but don't want to eat anything. I usually drink a Chinese herbal potion designed for appetite and that usually does it for me. It's bitter like hell but I love it.
I know it's a bunch of mystic hogwash for most people but it must have some sort of psychological trigger for me.

Maybe think of a time when you ate/drank something really delicious/very different when you were very hungry and try to eat/drink a bit that before/after mealtimes? It might help?

It's just my opinion though and I agree if it's more than two weeks, you should visit an actual health professional just to be safe. Better safe than sorry!
