I'm always surprised by this as well. It seems to me that, although he still has some feelings for her, he'll never go back to her as a lover. He's out of there!

Yeah, I mean, maybe I'm mis-remembering, but didn't she send him a letter begging him to come save her something, and he ignored it? I know he didn't say out loud "I don't care if she lives or dies", but his feelings were pretty evident when he ignored her plea for help.

Of course, I've been told by Sansan fans that I lacked the reading comprehension skills to understand what the books were really about, so I could be very wrong.

Oh my God, the Jaime/Cersei fans used the EXACT same line on anyone who thought Jaime had changed!

No, we don't have reading comprehension problems.

Jaime burnt her letter and is secretly trying to save Sansa Stark, going against Cersei's wishes. Yes, Jaime/Brienne as a ship has some basis in canon. Sorry guys, but every other reader was paying attention.

LOL, I actually spent quite a few days wondering if I had, in fact, missed the entire point of the series, so I re-read the books this summer. Turns out I understood the books just fine.

Ah, Jaime/Brienne. I think my favorite thing about that ship would be the look on Cercei's face when she saw the woman Jaime chose over her. And then maybe Cercei would be all 'HER?" and Brienne would be like 'I'ma cut your fool head off' and Cercei would piss herself and I would just dance in glee. GLEE.

(It's weird, I enjoy Cercei as a character and a fierce bitch, so the thought of it shouldn't make me this happy)
