Notes:

Important: I'm really sorry about this, but I accidentally misclicked and deleted the submission post from last week instead of saving it. Managed to save the first page (25) of secrets, but the rest (about 100 or so) are gone.

If you submitted something last week (Aug 26-Sept 1), please resubmit it here.

The submissions post for next week is below as usual.

Secrets Left to Post: ?? pages, ??? secrets from Secret Submission Post #296.

This sort of brings to mind the whole genre fic v. literary fic in literature classes and how elitist some teachers/profs are about literary fic. I know we've had a discussion about it here at least once, and I talk to my ex-English-major friend about it a lot (she wants to write fiction and all her English profs, and many of her classmates, looked down on that pretty severely).

Narrow-mindedness seems to be a plague among (at least some) English teachers and professors. Which, when you think about it, is REALLY ironic, because literature has had a major function throughout history of OPENING peoples' minds and bringing to light new ideas. And English teachers in my experience have always been so ~progressive. They have such a love affair ~progressive literary fic/poetry to such an extreme that they start to miss the point.

At least, that's my impression.
