TBH, though, I wonder how many of the people who say they don't care about feedback because they only write for themselves say that because it's often treated as shameful and childish and conceited, to admit that you want your stuff to be read and praised. Like, a True Artiste would create only for the pure sake of Art.

God forbid you want people to like your stuff, and say so openly.

I've gone through periods of not getting replies and still kept writing. I've written for small/old/inactive fandoms knowing I probably won't get any replies, because I wanted to write that story with that/those character(s).

But when I do get a comment? Yes, I like it. What's wrong with that?

Aaaall of this! I post up all of my original fic so a friend of mine can read it. I know that no one else will read or comment, but I write it because I want to write those situations and those characters.

Hell, I've written fanfics that I knew would likely get no comments (and was unsurprised when they didn't), but I wrote them because I wanted to, and I shared them just in case there was someone out there who wanted to read the same thing.

I LOVE comments. I love feedback, I love crit, and I love adoration. I don't NEED comments.
