The Bakshi LOTR is great and nothing will convince me otherwise. John Hurt as Aragorn is just too perfect, even if he looks like he isn't wearing any trousers. The Rankin/Bass RotK never happened, la la la. *fingers in ears*

Yes, but potato!Sam! S/Aruman! No one agreeing on how Edoras is pronounced! Sell-a-born! Seventeen years passing sleepily in the Shire and giving the entire audience seizures! Gratuitous sparkly wizard fireworks! Eowyn the Barbie and Wormtongue the Jawa! Tolkien's Greatest Hits! ENDING AT HELM'S DEEP! D8

I mean, they did get some bits right, and Aragorn was pretty good, pantslessness aside. But there's just so much wrong with it...

I wish I could lobotomise the part of my brain that remembers 'Where There's A Whip, There's A Way'.
