Notes:

Important: I'm really sorry about this, but I accidentally misclicked and deleted the submission post from last week instead of saving it. Managed to save the first page (25) of secrets, but the rest (about 100 or so) are gone.

If you submitted something last week (Aug 26-Sept 1), please resubmit it here.

The submissions post for next week is below as usual.

I've always believed in psychics, ghosts and such. However, I believe every one of those people who claim to be "psychics" and charge people are fakes. Not only that, I think they are excellent people readers. Able to read faces and body language better than most government agents. In fact, I think they should be hired as spies because they would be awesome at the job.

Now where do I think are the real psychics? Hiding their "gifts" because they don't want anyone to know that they are freaks of nature. Especially they don't want the dead to know that they can see them. Can you imagine being haunted by all of those souls who come to you because they know you can hear them and/or see them. The constant chattering. The feeling of never being alone. Seeing moving shadows everywhere. That's why the other place I think you can find psychics is in the mental hospital. Because seeing and hearing things no one else can hear and see would drive most people mad.

Who would want to advertise that they could do that?

That second paragraph...have you ever read the Otherworld Series by Kelley Armstrong? Because that's exactly what happens to her necromancers, lol.

Anyway, personally I'm a skeptic. The idea of souls and psychics, to me, seems like pure wish fulfillment. There's been a few people who offered thousands of dollars to anyone who could prove they had some sorr of psychic power. No one ever won.

Haven't read the books but I am going to look them up now. They sound interesting.

Yeah, I've heard about those money to prove you are a psychic challenge. I still go by what I think. If you are a real psychic, no amount of money is going to make you want to out yourself if you are sane. And if you are insane, well, money isn't going to matter to you, is it.

Though it is interesting for the people who have tried those challenges. I wonder how many were cons thinking they could beat the skeptics and how many actually thought they had psychic powers.

If you're interested in a purely necromancer book, I'd suggest her 'No Humans Involved" book. The narrator is Jaime Vegas, a show medium who can cold read/fakes seeing the dead, but in reality she actually can. She's plagued by ghosts all the time and is constantly worried she will end up like other necromancers/her own grandmother when she gets to a certain age (Necromancers almost always go mad)

I...will warn you, there is a little sex in the book. Easily skipped over, however!
