Notes:

Important: I'm really sorry about this, but I accidentally misclicked and deleted the submission post from last week instead of saving it. Managed to save the first page (25) of secrets, but the rest (about 100 or so) are gone.

If you submitted something last week (Aug 26-Sept 1), please resubmit it here.

The submissions post for next week is below as usual.

Secrets Left to Post: ?? pages, ??? secrets from Secret Submission Post #296.

i don't understand this whole "bodily choice is #1 and judging peoples' decisions is WRONG" mentality here. it's not a legal obligation but in a humanitarian society it's a moral one. opting out of saving someone's life is an asshole thing to do if your reason is shit.

But you're assuming everyone is looking at life from a humanitarian standpoint...which really is not the case. Considering it a moral obligation is part of a pretty specific world view (one where we're all expected to help each other without much reward).

because that's a social ideal. i'm not about to get philosophical about donating because it only serves to derail the conversation. donating is the right thing to do. not donating without having a decent excuse is, inherently not the right thing to do. i reserve the right to judge people for not doing the right thing, just as they reserve the legal right to, well... not do the right thing.

i really don't care if they're not legally obligated. just because they don't HAVE to doesn't mean i'm not allowed to look down on them.

Yes.

It's only a moral obligation if you subscribe to a particular philosophic approach.

Just like the idea that it's not an obligation is only true if you subscribe to a specific, different philosophic approach.
