This has been such an issue for me over the past few years, but the other way around?

Like... I started out in this RP, and my character got involved with another character in a romantic relationship. From the little OOC talk I had/saw from the other character's player, it seemed like she was around my age (the way she talked about classes/friends/job made her seem like she was in college, but I never pushed it, mostly because I am a horribly shy person). We didn't have much of an OOC relationship, but a few months later I found out she was 15. I was 21. I felt really, really icky, especially since our characters definitely had an active sex life.

And, as one friend so ~helpfully~ pointed out, if the sex was real it'd be statutory rape.

The RP relationship deteriorated pretty quickly after that, but it's just always been incredibly awkward since then. Especially when I ended up meeting her later~ >> It's bad enough meeting someone you've RPed smut with IRL, worse when that someone is a junior in high school and you're out of college.

I got kinda carried away, didn't I? >____> Whoops. Basically what I'm trying to say is that it feels really, really... wrong. I just feel like when you're older, you have a sort of power over people who are younger without them (or maybe even you) realizing it.
