Don't know zir fandoms or what kind of OCs zie makes, and it's not like we have designated comms. :P look around for places where people write oc fic or talk about theirs, hang out, be nice.

My major point was, in short, that some people do fandom different than what you've described here.

Well, you could post the ones you found. That would at least give the OP an idea what to look for. Just saying vaguely "they are out there" without giving her any clue as to how to find them is not really all that helpful.
