I've not been to a relative's funeral in like 15 years, because of the creeping dread and anxiety of listening to everyone say they're in a better place now and the thought of having to sit through a service (I've been to friends funerals, mostly because no one will pay respects to me, and I can be nice to their family).

The good news for me, is my mom doesn't want a service, the bad news is she's hypothetically leaving me to fight with my aunt who thinks I'll go against mom's wishes and have a service. Mom's the only person in the family I'm playing nice for though, so if anything happens to her, my atheist ass is burning ALL the bridges.
