So...why do you want to ban the term "hardcore," exactly? Do you not like being called it, or something? Because you basically fit the definition of "hardcore." There's a certain set of games that one must play to be considered a gamer, and if one doesn't play those, then one is not a gamer -- regardless of the amount of time or effort that one funnels into one's game of choice. That's the hardcore attitude. You have it, and yet you apparently want to deny that you do.

It's actually rather amusing, because your very argument for why the term should be retired further demonstrates your elitism. "Hardcore," to you, refers to a segment of gamers of which you do not personally approve and who you have therefore deemed worthy of dismissal.

How's the view from your high horse, anyway?
