He tried to get her to go to college and faked an application for her, which was alarming, but he didn't go through with it. Other than that, and the whole Jacob thing, I think he was just vetoing decisions Bella wanted to make about their relationship. Well, that and the whole "turning into a vampire thing", but that was something Edward admittedly knew a lot more about - not that that makes it ok for him to make a decision for her but I can see why he was so upset about it.

For the most part I agree, but IMO the turning into a vampire thing was a little bit different because it was something he had to participate in. If I had a girlfriend and she wanted to do something that seemed like a horrible, life-ruining, and immoral decision (especially if it was something I had experienced and she hadn't), I wouldn't try to physically stop her... but I wouldn't do it for her, either.

That being said, if she got another vampire to help her, and Edward interrupted... that I would see as controlling. And I do think Edward probably would've done that if she had, so maybe it's a moot point.
