Funnily enough, I get this. Something about these kinds of stories just makes you want to pick apart the characters' insecurities and figure out which one is going to get lost in the crowd while the rest of them form these strong bonds. It's wonderfully melancholy. <3

Not everybody likes melancholy, though, so it can be (sadly) hard to find...

I get this too! I've read some interesting P4 fics dealing with loneliness, as most of the party deals with it in one form or another before joining the gang. Wish I could provide links, but it's been years.

Same here. For P4 I read quite a bit of Yousuke loneliness fic, because I like quiet melancholy and it fits Yousuke's character. Frankly it makes sense, since while the main charas always have lots of people surrounding them, you kinda wonder if the other people in the group are actually friends with each other without the main character acting as the social glue. It's pretty interesting to explore
