Goddammit, no. The previous three Phoenix Wright games were nothing but Maya. We know she exists, we know she's there. She's moved on and the rest of fandom needs to move on, too.

If by moved on you mean "MOVE TO WHERE THE MAYA IS" Then yes.

But why? There were three games where she was pretty much the central character if you really look at it. Why does she need to be there all the time? Can Phoenix not be good on his own without her? Let's try and get something fresh going without having yet another game that is about Maya.

Admittedly I haven't looked up many details for this game but it takes place a year after Apollo Justice? Phoenix didn't have Maya around then either. It sucks, but I'm sure we should assume they're still friends but Maya is a full grown adult now and off living her own life.

The "full grown adult" thing is probably why she isn't there because those games tend to like putting the main character with cheery young girls.

Honestly what characters are in it doesn't concern me as much as it being funny and the gameplay being fun.

I, on the other hand, am not bothered by it at, because a. Maya still manages to find the time to send Phoenix craploads of Steel Samurai DVDs and b. She's the Master of Kurain now, it's not like she has the time to hang out with Phoenix constantly. I'd be bothered if she wasn't referred to even vaguely, though, especially now that Phoenix is the main character again (OR IS HE? It'd actually hilarious if the pulled a MGS2 and Apollo is the main character for the rest of the game). The vagueness in AAI was ridiculous (no, Capcom writers, making a direct reference to Phoenix will not result in him taking over the story, especially since he isn't even in it apart from a cameo where he doesn't even say anything).

I wish there would be another Apollo game. His story isn't really finished yet in my opinion.

As for putting it on hold? I have no idea. I tried finding out about that stuff once. I just got very confused and left it at that.

Capcom's president said GS5 was being worked on in 2007, a few months before AJ/GS4 come out in Japan, but nothing else about it was ever confirmed, including who the main character would be.
