Disagreeing with you and above anon. With makeup, girls judge or girls more harshly (IMO, on the whole) because they tend to know more about makeup in the first place and so can tell more readily how much/how badly it's been applied. I know I've been in more than one situation with a group of guys all saying a woman looks hot or whatever, but all the girls have been talking about how she had too much foundation or whatever. Also re: only straight girls wearing makeup - just no.

ayrt

That was sarcasm. OP said the only possible reason women could wear make-up (to them) was to attract men, as if women don't also care about that kind of thing, and as if women could never possibly want to attract women

Um.

The only reason I put any effort into my appearance is because I know it makes me more desirable to men.

I was only talking about myself.

Then you said you couldn't "can't relate" to doing it for other reasons.

I was sarcastically implying that not all women are straight and want to attract men like you and perhaps that is something to consider

I said I couldn't relate to someone wanting to wear make-up for their own personal benefit. My statement had nothing to do with sexual orientation.

But whatever. Keep pulling stuff out of your ass.

Oop. My bad :/ my sarcasm filter is usually quite good. Alas, not today.

I agree with you there. Some women can be pretty harsh when it comes to make-up and slut-shaming can get pretty bad. However, I still think men are more critical overall of women's appearances. Or maybe they're just more open about it from my experience. :/
