It really helps if you don't stay on FS constantly. You can get emails saying someone responded to you. You can't when anon.

That is something I miss about being logged in. Does DW let you track individual threads the way you can on lj?

There is a little button that says "track this". I've never used it but I assume it works.

Well then, problem solved!

(Anonymous) 2012-09-11 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
That's only for paid users.

I tried it, and it only allows you to track the entire thread. Not helpful...
And now for some reason I don't even see the button anymore, so maybe as someone said, it's only for paid users.

I thought free users had thread tracking too, something like 5 or 10 threads only. Maybe I remembered wrong.

Or more likely, that changed.
I looked it up in my notification page, I had only one comment tracking left, I deleted it... and I still can't see the "track this" button anymore.

But as I said, the way I remember, it only allowed you (at least for free user) to track the comments on the entire post, not a separate thread. For a community as active as f!s, it just means you'll be clogged with comments in your mailbox.

Found the help page :
http://www.dreamwidth.org/support/faqbrowse?faqid=94&q=track&lang=

Free users can only track posts, paid users can track threads.

Ooooh, and the "track this" link has been replaced by the doorbell icon!
That now does appear on each comment.

*tries*

Ooooh, and the "track this" link has been replaced by the doorbell icon!

But yeah, as a free user, it leads you to a page where you only choice is to track the whole post. Do not want.
