I'm not advocating name calling at all, but sorry it's kind of sad and hopelessly privleged and naive that a white person equates being called "Whitey" with any racial slur, and that their first response is probably to spout off hateful language in response.

Actually, I'm the original anon and I didn't mean it to be offensive or hurtful. I didn't know it was an offensive term, which is why I asked the first person who replied up there if it was offensive. Learn something new every day I guess.

I would also be interested in what slurs you would feel it's okay to hurl my way, especially since you have no clue what my racial identity is. I'd be interested in what you're assuming I am.

I'm (and you mean me) not saying it's on the same scale, because that would be a slap in the face of everyone who was ever beaten up/raped or killed for their skincolour. If it seams that way i apologize. I'm saying that being not willing to act in the same respectful manner you (as in everyone this concerns) want to be treated, will only result in anger and bitternis and certainly not get the results you want. Perfect example was the perosn i originaly commented to. How can anyone expect to be treated respectful if they get degrading and insulting while demanding it?

I'm sorry, are you saying whites cannot be targets of hate crimes? Because they have been. Racially-motivated hate crimes aren't perpetrated solely by whites against non-whites.

Clearly you do not understand what a racial slur is or that white people can and have been subject to racial discrimination. Discrimination and racism don't magically not occur just because a person happens to belong to the dominant group.
