best friend is moving out - kind of sad over it

my best friend and i rent a house with a couple of others. she's moving out with her boyfriend and I guess I'm kind of sad about it? I enjoy having her around in easy reach (i'm bored! I'll go chill in her room. I want to watcha movie with someone, housemates! i'm sad, i need friend commonsense) and I guess i'm a bit sadface about her moving - even though it's only to the otherside of the city.

i'm also kind of concerned that i'll be out numbered on house related discussions because my other housemates are a couple :/

and, well, other things have going on in my life so I kind of just want to run away to my own house with no-one in it to hide. except then i'd be alone and it would cost more so.

i'm not hugely upset, just kind of sadly resigned. i won't tell her eith erbecause she's really excited and her bf seems a nice guy

My best friend just left yesterday for a city two hours away because she's going to school there. I know exactly what you mean about missing having your best friend around within easy reach.

A closed door does not mean one isn't being opened at the same time - maybe you'll find someone else who'll be as chill as your best friend.

I know exactly where you're coming from. Living with your friends kind of totally rules & going from that to not living with them kind of sucks, especially if it's combined with fear that you're not going to see each other as often and other stressful things in your life and all that jazz. Yeah, that's just unfortunate and kind of shitty.

I hope you can work things out and find more cool people to room with and all that. Good luck to you.

*hug* I understand about your best friend moving out. Last year I didn't share a room with my best friend, but I shared a building with her and she was a three minute walk away. I saw her constantly. Now she lives with her boyfriend and it's a ten minute drive away, but it's across highways and stuff and it's hard to navigate and we're both busy and it's just not the same. It's been lonely with her gone, and I'm only just starting to get used to it.

I'll tell you that you'll get used to it though and eventually you guys will figure out ways to see each other. Good luck, anon.
