Mickey did not have a hateboner for Rose, he was (understandably) upset that Rose got closer with the Doctor. But Rose was not the only reason he left, he had his Grandmother in the other universe, and the other universe probably made him realize that he could be his own man. He was growing and he was trying to move on.

I agree that the Martha thing was random and should of been ditched when RTD couldn't put it into Torchwood. But I don't agree that Mickey was entitled or had a hateboner for Rose. By the end of it Mickey didn't even begrudge the Doctor (and he DID have issues with the Doctor) and he really became his own man.
