I use colour blind because I don't have a visual memory. If somebody is in front of me I'll notice their race, but ask me five minutes after I meet somebody what their race was and I'll probably not know. If it comes up in conversation I'll likely remember, but my default descriptions of people don't include their race because it's meaningless to me- in the image to words conversion, a race identifier doesn't give me enough information and so I'll have a collection of words that don't really help me assign a race. It's odd and hard to explain, but I'll have a word or two that give me a general impression, and if I "look" it is made up of more precise words, going several levels down. But the more I focus at the precise words the blurrier they get. I highly doubt it's a common problem.

Also, the image to words conversion makes me SUCK at remembering people. I also don't usually remember if people are blonde/brunette/whatever without a specific reason.
