To be honest, I loved Minfuck, but found the rest of the series disappointingly lacking. I think it's because the first book still had the actually interestingg plot and some character development, whereas the shorter stories that followed seemed to be only lazily constructed sets for the smut (with some rare exceptions) - I also got tired of the characters' and their relationship's stagnation in development. But maybe it got better again after book 5.

For me, the short stories are nice interludes, but I definitely prefer the long stories with plot and everything. I know what you mean, though. I found the middle books somewhat lacking as well. They were still good, IMO, and definitely still on the far top of the m/m original fiction I've read, but they couldn't hold a candle to Mindfuck.

I just counted my books to see at which one you quit, and I actually think that they get better again after book 5. Book 6 (First Against the Wall) is my second favorite book in the series after Mindfuck. That's just my opinion of course, others may disagree. But if you're ever bored and the novel is on the author's website you might want to give it a try. Book 7 is interesting in terms of how far Toreth is willing to go for Warrick, if that interests you.

That is actually very helpful, thank you! I think I'll give book 6 a try then! (once I'm not reading 3 books at the same time anymore.)
