(Anonymous) 2012-09-12 12:51 am (UTC)(link)There are plenty of people who are squicked by bestiality but not RPF, and plenty of people who write non-RPF bestiality, so I'm not sure why you're correlating the two. But I'm sorry you had a bad experience!

(Anonymous) 2012-09-12 01:32 am (UTC)(link)people are squicked by bestiality right? and bestiality is illegal in a lot of places. so when the person before found bestiality rpf it was like double DO NOT WANT. and it's bestiality fic with real people which iunno, i think crosses a lot of moral lines and may even be libel.

(Anonymous) 2012-09-12 02:22 am (UTC)(link)I took their comment to mean they were squicked by RPF because it includes bestiality, since that was their only example of what their "militant squick" was. And I don't see how those things are inherently related.
And my impression is that it's very difficult to bring a libel suit for something labeled explicitly as fiction (which is required by most RPF comms and practiced by most RPF writers, in my experience). I remember this coming up with regard to an unflattering "novel" about Jackie Kennedy, I think, which, since it was marketed as fiction, couldn't be classified as libel. And that was published work that made the author money rather poorly written anon kinkmeme fills.
