Huh. Yeah.

I don't know what's going on here as I don't watch BBT anymore but... yeah. YANA

I'm a little... discombobulated right now.

(Anonymous) 2012-09-11 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Who is this and what is it from?

(Anonymous) 2012-09-11 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
that's Sheldon from Big Bang Theory, i think

(Anonymous) 2012-09-11 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Good grief, why would that make you ANY LESS STRAIGHT? An avowed man in "feminine" clothing does not a woman make. Do you think butch lesbians are trying to be men, too? Gender goes deeper than that. Obviously you like femme men, or possibly you're into the forced-feminisation kink. You still like guys, okay?

(Anonymous) 2012-09-11 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
THANK YOU. Sheldon isn't suddenly a woman or trans or anything just because he's in woman's clothing. He's still a man and finding him hot in some article of clothing society puts the "woman" label on doesn't magically challenge your straightness, OP. *facepalm* Geez!

Thisss.

Came here to say just this very thing. Thank you, anon.

You do realize that Sheldon is a man right? So you being a straight woman... makes perfect sense?

Putting on a dress doesn't turn a man into a woman much in the same way that putting on a cowboy hat does not make you a cowboy.

You found you have a kink. Join the club.

(Anonymous) 2012-09-11 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Liking butch men is also a "kink" but it's a very common and expected one for women.

[personal profile] forgottenjester 2012-09-11 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
True.

And you know what's great? You can have a kink for butch men and femme men. Huzzah!

So... as a straight woman you are attracted to a man you saw on TV? Am I missing a part of this secret?
deird1: Eugene, trying to "smoulder" Rapunzel into setting him free (Eugene smoulder)

[personal profile] deird1 2012-09-11 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
*tilts head*

Yeah... I can see that.

Um. All I really know about Big Bang Theory is that I hate it with the passion of a thousand fiery suns and that's Sheldon Cooper. But that picture right there is... intriguing. YANA. If you're attracted to a dude wearing a dress it doesn't mean you don't want to have lots of heterosexual sex with him.

As everyone else has said, what is with people thinking gender = clothing/makeup? A friend's mother said something related about "why do lesbians dress like men - do they want to be men?" when my friend was testing the waters for coming out. It's frustrating, but also kind of hilarious because it's almost like they're subconsciously on board for gender as a performance and fuck biology.

[personal profile] unicornherds 2012-09-12 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah...with everyone else here wondering how being attracted to a man makes you any less straight.

And wow, must've missed that episode. Pretty sure I'd remember Sheldon in a "sexy maid" outfit.

I just spent the past half hour watching clips of BBT on YT because of you. Thanks for that.

[personal profile] ex_paola492 2012-09-12 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
You might have a cross-dressing fetish. It doesn't make you any more straight or gay or whatever.

(Anonymous) 2012-09-12 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
This is what I was thinking.

So congrats, anon, you might have a crossdressing kink, which quite a lot of straight women have.
brightblueink: Madoka looking surprised and holding a cat (Have you ever licked a lamppost in winte)

[personal profile] brightblueink 2012-09-12 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
I'm pretty straight but I have a thing for guys in maid dresses. I don't think it makes me any less straight. *shrug* Because the dude still has a penis.

(Anonymous) 2012-09-12 04:51 am (UTC)(link)
He is still a GUY, how does it make you any less straight
fickletastictot: Crazy old man cackling in a thunderstorm (crazy grandpaw cackle)

Welcome to the world of kinks, gurl

He does have nice legs though, wooo~

Fandom welcomes you with open arms. Enjoy your complementary kinks, yo.

(Anonymous) 2012-09-12 02:40 pm (UTC)(link)
... can anyone shed some light on the context of this scene?

[personal profile] veronica_rich 2012-09-12 09:58 pm (UTC)(link)
If I can enjoy Arnold Rimmer in a gingham dress and a penguin hand puppet, you can handle Sheldon Cooper in a French maid uniform.

(Anonymous) 2012-09-13 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
Imagine a straight guy sees a girl in boxer shorts (for men) and is turned on by her. Would you call him gay? Probably not.
So I guess there is no need for you to be "worried" about this.

Just think a little outside of the gender binary. Guys can look really sexy and/or cute in frilly dresses. I myself prefer them not in drag but in skirts and dresses that are more suited for a "male physique" (it highlights their goodies better ;))

But hey, to each their own.

PS: holy smokes, Jim Parsons has nicely shaped upper legs oO
