My friend and I talked about this. There was an anime that CN aired with a plot like that (on DragonballZ, Trunks is Bulma and Vegeta's son out of wedlock, and the dub version keeps that aspect of it), but for a show made for CN it's rather surprising.

well, with animals its always been okay. Stinky's cat had kittens out of wedlock too and that was on Doug in the 90's.

Not saying that humans having kids out of wedlock is "not okay", I don't judge people for my own personal beliefs just saying that's probably how they managed to air it without causing some kind of uproar of helicopter-parents.
