Civil War reenactments aren't my thing. However, when I used to live in Virginia, (Virginia Beach to be exact) I was always going to Williamsburg. But then Coastal Virginia doesn't have that thick Southern accent that people are used to. No one ever says to me while I talk, "Hey, are you from the South?" when I visit up North. I sound more like The Wire reject.

Virginia accents run the spectrum. When I was in the Army my team leader sounded as Southern as Southern could be. And I know people from Chesapeake who sound very rural.

I love Civil War reenactments. The men wear uniforms, and the women wear those gorgeous dresses!
