I liked Trip so much partly because he was southern and yet was portrayed as a smart good guy instead of a dumb hick or stereotype/stand-in for a bigoted strawman for the other characters to bash. Not only was it a refreshing change, it was hopeful, because of the idea that in the future, there wouldn't be any more real-life issues in the southern area of North America to stereotype.

Your way of reacting to ideas seems kinda ass-backwards, man. But it's good that you at least realize it?

OP, we aren't all as awful as you seem to believe! Granted, I know the sort of people you hate do exist; I've encountered them. But not everyone in the South is like that, and similar people exist elsewhere!
