I know I've heard in the US and Canada pretty much all classes beyond the 101 in Psych rule out Freud. ): I'm sorry you've got to deal with that shit. I once read a great takedown that posited that because Freud was raised in an age where he had more exposure to his nurse than to his actual mother, he actually had an abnormal experience with being sexually attracted to his mom, because he didn't really get that she was his mom, if that makes sense.

In this case, the theory is that the westermark effect didn't take hold because Frued didn't have enough closeness with his mother to "imprint" her as undesirable.
