"But at the same time it had a great message about romance for girls so I let it slide."

If that ep didn't have that neat conclusion, I probably would've been on the "OHHHH I get it. Boys have lots of adventures, but girls get love stories."

Granted, this is AT, and love stories (falling in/out love, unrequited, stable relationships, etc.) are actually a pretty big part of Finn's and his development. But if the one episode with a lead heroine was about that... yeah.

My thoughts exactly. :)

Because yeah, Finn has the luxury of romantic episodes because he's in every episode. He has a lot to choose from. He gets to be defined by all of it. But for Fionna, she's represented in only one episode so that is the only thing we get to see of her. Only romance. But yeah, the ending made it better.

Since there's going to be a second Fionna and Cake episode I feel as long as that one is about adventure all is good.
