HP beat FF by a landslide, and that's an -unbiased- view after being in both fandoms. D: I could be wrong, but that's as far as I've seen.

Haven't seen that fandom in years. Are people still fighting over SakuSasuNaru?

[identity profile] liltigre.livejournal.com 2007-01-21 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
It's not safe for anybody! <3 Though there's not much pr0n about the Eastern theologies, is there? Buddha's getting shafted.

1. YES. It's so obvious, she just looks like... a rapist. Watch out, little boy!

[identity profile] zhoutaisdayoff.livejournal.com 2007-01-21 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
I guess that's fairly accurate since I hadn't seen any head-case FF shippers actively writing death threats to Square-Enix about going against what they want in a pairing.

[identity profile] zhoutaisdayoff.livejournal.com 2007-01-21 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
When aren't they?

[identity profile] klytaemnestra.livejournal.com 2007-01-21 01:44 am (UTC)(link)

Castlevania is like my oldest fandom. And Lament of Innocence kind of owns part of my soul. If I had to give up Final Fantasy VII or Lament of Innocence, I think I'd had to keep the latter. It's like a playground for me. Vampires, the Crusades, religion, knights ... yeah, appeals to too many of my little obsessions. I'm not even that fond of Dracula or most vampire-related things ... but this series is just absolute love. I've been playing it since I was about six.

Lament of Innocence was actually the first Castlevania game I ever managed to finish, plus it had an excellent cast of characters. I haven't played the other Castlevania games completely, and vampires were like.. something I liked back when I was 10, maybe. They grew boring, but yeah. Castlevania. Yum. I'm pretty pleased with it. :D

[identity profile] shahni.livejournal.com 2007-01-21 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
If people did that to Rowling, I'm not surprised at all.

[identity profile] zhoutaisdayoff.livejournal.com 2007-01-21 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
Fanbrats are stupid that way.

[identity profile] klytaemnestra.livejournal.com 2007-01-21 02:00 am (UTC)(link)

I'd suggest the GameBoy Advance games. I have ROMs of them if you want me to send them your way. Aria of Sorrow is really one of the best in the series. And Symphony of the Night for the PSOne is awesome, though a bit hard to come by these days despite its popularity. I think I saw them selling on eBay for around $80 last I wandered over there since people had told me that I could probably sell my copy for a nice sum ... but I don't want to part with it. ;_;

I hate the whole vampire obsession so many stupid kids have and hate what Buffy and Van Hellsing did to them. Vampires do not turn to dust when a spike is driven through their heart. The whole point of the spike it to keep them pinned in their coffin. I'm a fan of Polidori's The Vampire which was a short gothic story written in the mid 1800s and is where a lot of the Dracula lore comes from even though the vampire in the story was loosely based off Lord Byron. ::rambles.:: And don't get me started on what Anne Rice did to vampires. I used to love Anne Rice but then after reading too many bad Castlevania fics -- there is a surplus -- in which people used Anne Rice lore for the vampires, I just was like, 'What the hell ... this childe stuff sucks. Please go away. Kthxbye.'

::falls over.:: Okay, shutting up now.

14. I look at that time period as my Stupid Years. I think I went through every single annoying fangirl phase possible in those years. I'm just thankful I got over it.

[identity profile] devotingly.livejournal.com 2007-01-21 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
I'd love that!! I've been hearing a lot about Aria of Sorrow, and oh MAN. I played Dracula X -eons- ago. I was just a kid then.*grins*

Anne Rice.. there was a period of time I did enjoy the whole Interview With The Vampire fandom, mainly for the movie- but the books were horrendously dull.

Rambling is fun! :D I love hearing what others have to say about their fandoms. :3

[identity profile] zhoutaisdayoff.livejournal.com 2007-01-21 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
I think to some degree we all go through those Stupid Years. I know I did.

[identity profile] zhoutaisdayoff.livejournal.com 2007-01-21 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
3.) Poor kittens. Why does fanbrats mistreat you so?

20.) I used to be one of those said FF-bashers I throw myself at the mercy of the court, but then I realized that one of my coolest IRL friends was really upset and offended by it. He told me that I wouldn't find it cool/funny if someone came along and started raking me over the coals about my love for the X-Box, Magoichi (both Samurai Warriors and Onimusha 2 verses) and Star Wars. It got me seriously thinking about that...

22.) I STILL find RPS weird.

[identity profile] happy-cupcake.livejournal.com 2007-01-21 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
11. Try working out some. It's not easy, but it's much healthier than throwing up your food.

13. OH MY GOD YES. I'm so glad I'm not the only person that feels that way ♥

[identity profile] happy-cupcake.livejournal.com 2007-01-21 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
3. Because fanbrats don't care about the poor poor kittums ;_;

[identity profile] shigishigi.livejournal.com 2007-01-21 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
11. Same here! We should be barf buddies!
14. I started that way too! Then I ended up hating the women because they usually suck as characters in general because the canon makes them out to purposely piss me off.
20. Let it go, grow some skin, do whatever because you can't stop people from having an opinion. Leave them to their fandom, have them leave you to yours. Not like their opinion about it should change what you like and not like your opinion should change theirs, right?
