...but their third album sounds like just an extension/evolution of their first. Their second album sounds nothing like 1 or 3.

So...yeah. I don't really understand how you can like 1 and 2 but not like 3.

Frankly, I love 1 and 3, but don't care for 2. It just wasn't my taste.

I agree. I loved their first album, and was just so disappointed by the second. This secret is finally making me actually check out the third one, since I was worried about being disappointed again.

if you think Pretty.Odd. is musically different and lyrically unique, you've obviously never heard of the Beatles. i'm a fan of p!atd, but the moment i put on Pretty.Odd. i thought, "did i accidentally put on a Beatles album?"

so yeah, if you don't like Vices & Virtues, that's cool. it doesn't mean you're a bad fan. i just think your view of the originality of Pretty.Odd. is a bit skewed.

it sounds the more like the beatles than anything because ryan ross was going through his stupid hippie phase~ and thought he was a beatle

Second this. I'm not that familiar with p!atd's sound, but when that album came out the Beatles influence was Pretty.Obvious. I think it's sweet when when fans say how "different" and "unique" their favorite bands are. Naive, but sweet.

Just here to say thanks for reminding me they have a third album, cause I need to check that out...sorry you weren't into it though.

their second album is my favourite too. I mean yeah it was like the beatles revisited but it's the one I listen to the most. Though I haven't actually listened to their third album so I can't really say anything regarding that matter.

I feel the same way :)

One of my ife dreams was always to get high and listen to Pretty.Odd to see if it made any. I'm dangerously allergic to marijuana smoke though, so that will never happen. Doesn't change the fact that it's still the only Panic(!) album that I know every single word of, and I'm not one to pick favourites, but I am deeply deeply fond of it.

I love all the albums for their own reasons, but I haven't found anything that reminds me of V&V yet! The sound's a little more common, true, but paired with those kinds of lyrics? I'd love to hear anything similar if people know of anything!
