Yes cookingwithdog is awesome. But it's not my favorite Youtube cooking channel, that has to go to the (now sadly defunct) Depression Cooking, which is not actually about emo cookery but is about food from the Great Depression cooked by a very friendly grandmotherly elderly woman. The recipes are all really simple and old-fashioned, but they're also filling and cheap, and I think learning how to cook them helps a lot with basic cooking skills and just being comfortable in the kitchen.
