I'm a bit shaken right now. I took a taxi home and the entire way the taxi driver talked about how I should work in (suburb known for sex workers) and that I'd make great money there instead of my current job.
Then he kept offering to take away my taxi fee (about $40) if I gave him a BJ. I ended up getting him to drop me off a couple of blocks up from my house because I didn't want him to know where it is. I walked around the block too.

But I'm still shaking. It was really unnerving being locked in the car with a guy asking for a BJ. I was terrified. I told my friends and they just laughed like this wasn't too unusual (I wouldn't really know, I don't get taxis often). But I'm so creeped out.

What if he had followed me? I've got knee problems, I can't run. Also I had my bags. What if I get him again next time I need a taxi?

That has never, ever happened when I was in a taxi. Did you phone the company to ask for pick up? Because you should call them and tell them that the taxi driver who picked you up was completely inappropriate.

@ OP I don't know how taxis work but don't they have numbers? At the least you should be able to call the company, give a description, maybe just go down to local precinct and ask what to do.

I think the other poster may have said it's never happened to her to explain to the Op that such things are uncommon. Not to minimize her experience or her fear. I'd be terrified too, and I take taxis a lot.

They said they didn't know if that kind of thing was common. So I replied to say that that's not normal behavior.

That is not normal and it is totally reasonable that you are freaked out. Your friends were being jerks.

If you got the guys name or number or anything I'd report him. That is very inappropriate behavior and he should be fired.

Oh my god, that is so, so horrible. D8 There has got to be some way to report him to his company, right? Find their number and make some noise about it, cause that shit absolutely should not fly, ever. Then find a different cab company.

That's scary! Your feelings are totally justified and your friends are being jerks. I'm sorry that happened to you.

Agreeing with all the above: This is not usual and very much not OK. I hope you can report him.

Call the company. Call the police. Make a stink. This was incredibly inappropriate, creepy, and horrifying.

I took a taxi to work one day with a woman driver. She spent the entire time crying to me, and on the phone to her mother (talking on a cell while driving, almost crashed!) Apparently she stole baby supplies because she had no money to feed/diaper her baby. So now she was going to jail for three months. I never called that company again.

Sorry to hear that happened to you, OP. I would definitely report him. :/
