I wish more people on tumblr would credit the fanart they reblog. I have a massive folder full of awesome fanart I found on tumblr, and less than half of those pictures were credited. I want to know who made them so I can see more from those artists! :(

Decent image searcher. Should help you at least lower that percentage a bit.

Google image search is a pretty nifty image searcher. Should help lower the percentage even more.

I get most of my image credit through it

I've tried using Google image search, but it doesn't always work for all of the images. Thanks anyway though!

For Pixiv fanart you can use sauceNAO.

IQDB is good for anime/video game stuff- it searches multiple databases simultaneously, and if it comes up empty-handed it offers you links to both Saucenao and Tineye.

Between those and google image search, I can generally find sources somewhere around 75% of the time.

Post those same pictures on tumblr, tag them, and request to know who the artist is. Someone in the fandom will surely know and will probably be glad to tell you. I've done this a few times and discovered some great artists.
