F!S, help me out a bit: how weird is it to be attracted to your second cousin? We're not related by blood and we just met (and are both 21), but it still feels really, really weird to be attracted to him. And if something comes of it I feel like all of our families would be really, incredibly weirded out.

But, I really want to give it a shot too. What do I do?

Don't give it a shot. Sounds like more drama than it's potentially worth.

Honestly I don't think it's that weird if you've only just met and are second cousins. If someone hadn't pointed out you were cousins he would've just been another dude on the street you were attracted to. No big.

Wait, you're not related by blood? So he's, like, a cousin by marriage or something? That's not really that weird at all IMO.

A buddy of mine in high school admitted (for some reason) to being attracted to his second cousin, and we... uh... we pretty much mocked him mercilessly (all in good fun of course). In actuality I don't know if it's necessarily the worst thing in the world. But of course if it's by marriage then it's not a big deal at all.

I don't think it's weird, but if your families would be freaked out I'd say forget it to avoid the drama.

If you're not related by blood, I don't see the problem. Still, if you think your family will be weirded out, it's probably not worth it.

Where I come from, as long as you're not blood-related, marrying your cousins is A-OK!

Try and see what your family thinks of this. Maybe put a little joke or a small question in a conversation and see what you can do from there.
