I do this game with British tv all the time, or even connecting that to American tv and film. I even once made a chart of 60+ actors (and like 5 writers because I couldn't resist adding Tarantino and Stoppard and a few others) linked by like 35 projects by shared cast members. When you look at this big map you see weird connections like Karl Urban has worked with two actors who are recurring characters on Fringe (John Noble in LOTR and Leonard Nimoy in Star Trek 2009).
