Hey, who would you really like to see in a regular TV series?

(Anonymous) 2012-09-15 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
So, Michael J. Fox is doing a series for NBC next year. And Dennis Quaid is starring in a new show. Who would you like to see on your TV every week (give or take)?

Someone who hasn’t done it for a while, like Gillian Anderson?
Someone who was just in something that ended, like Robert Sean Leonard?
Someone who is in movies, like Meryl Streep?
Or maybe you’d like to see someone you love, who is in a show that you really don’t, do something else.

I'd watch Gillian Anderson in anything.

I was really (cautiously) hopeful to see Bridget Regan in that pilot, Frontier, that didn't end up getting picked up. She's one of those actresses who I don't understand WHY she's not in more things. She's a good actress, she's really beautiful... Idk, I just want more Bridget Regan in things.

Also, Ellen Page. Just because.

Oh man, Bridget Regan. :/ LOTS gave me the biggest crush on her and I wasn't even aware she was in a pilot recently. *sigh* I'd love to see her back on TV too. Doing anything, honestly!

She was in an episode of Person of Interest a while back and hnnnnng, she looked fantastic. And was fantastic in general. It was so lovely to see her back on TV, if only for an hour.

I have such a girl crush on Bridget Regan. Both Bridget and Craig Horner were in pilots that didn't get picked up, so I was kind of bummed.

I saw the episode of Person of Interest and she looked fantastic! Actually, she's in the two-episode finale of Perception (which I didn't watch this season). The first part she wasn't in very much (just on TV) but from what I understand she'll be in it more in the second episode. She's just fantastic and so beautiful that I feel like she should be more places and she's not.

Craig Horner, too?! Oh man, that blows. D: I really like him as well. At first I read this as them being in the same pilot, and my Richard/Kahlan shipper heart was sad that they had a chance to be shipped in another show but it didn't work out.

Oh man, I've been meaning to watch Perception and now that I know she's in the finale I'm going to have to. She's worth it, especially if she gets a decent amount of screen time. Thanks for informing me!

She's just fantastic and so beautiful that I feel like she should be more places and she's not.

Yes, you're so right. What is wrong with people? She's like a ray of gorgeous sunshine! THAT CAN ACT!

Did you see her interview on AOTS, btw? (Back when Seeker was still on?) She was so adorable and took Kevin's crush on her in stride. I loved it.

Haha, I wish, but nope, they were in two separate pilots. But if they were in the same show again my shipper heart would have sung.

The story of Perception is a two-parter, but from what I can tell her screen time is much more significant in the second half; the first half she was just on a TV in a background of a scene, but I was still like "Hey, Bridget!!"

I did see that interview on AOTS! She really was adorable and just seemed so cool on the show. I'm an interview/commentary/special features nerd, and I love just how enthusiastic she seemed about LOTS. She was just so excited , and legitimately liked everything.

Our shipper hearts would have sang in harmony.

the first half she was just on a TV in a background of a scene, but I was still like "Hey, Bridget!!"

I would've done the same! A small appearance is definitely better than no appearance.

Me too; interviews are so interesting and fun to watch for me. The show ended too soon. *sobs*

I'd love to see Daniel Anthony in a lead role in something. He played Clyde Langer in the Sarah Jane Adventures and he was brilliant.

And Grant Gustin. Mostly because I just want an excuse to stare at his face for forty minutes a week.

Daniel Anthony will be a regular cast member on Casualty, probably sometime in the new year https://twitter.com/aj_management/status/225901624961421312

Ooh, thanks! I haven't watched Casualty in years but I might have to start again.

Oh, I'd love for Robert Sean Leonard to do another TV show! Glad you mentioned him. And Hugh Laurie too, though I doubt he's in the market for another after all those years of House. Same for RSL, actually...

Any of the main four from SGA (Joe, David, Jason or Rachel), preferably together, though that's never going to happen. I'm still sad about this. Oh, and I realize Jason was in GoT. Haven't gotten around to that yet but I kinda want to, just for him.

I'd love to see any of the main four from SGA in something, too. Especially Joe - I liked him so much in Sisters and was so pleased when he got SGA - also, I wish his guest role on Fringe hadn't been so tiny.

Fringe is another show I've never watched, so I haven't seen his episode. You liked his role, even if it was tiny? Maybe I should check it out...

David had a smallish part on The Closer a few years ago, and I saw that, but yea...:/

No big roles for any of them it seems (again, other than Jason I guess; 10 episodes is decent). I miss those guys on my TV each week.

Well, I love Fringe and I did like him in it, but his character, um, well, it ends badly for him. Of course, it's a sci-fi show with canon parallel worlds, so nothing is really set in stone and I very much like to imagine the possibilities.

Oh yes for SGA, especially David. I miss him on my TV screen.

Dave Foley and Norm McDonald. Neither of them are on TV enough (especially Dave) and they're both hilarious.

Please, someone make an Odd Couple remake with the two of them. I would pay so much money.

Bernadette Peters in everything ever. Seriously, just put her on tv reading the fucking phonebook, I would eat that shit up.

I want Patton Oswalt, Bo Burnham, and Maria Bamford to have a show all together. Them doing anything together would be awesome.

I want team Starkid to have their own tv show, and I want Darren Criss to be in that instead of on Glee.

Bernadette guest stars on "Smash" occasionally, they even had her sing and she was phenomenal.

Gillian Anderson did a version of Great Expectations last year, and Bleak House not too long ago, so I haven't had much time to miss her that much! XD

I actually don't think very much about which actor should be on TV, although I'd rather that they be on a cable TV show rather than network TV stuff. The quality of writing is usually better on cable network shows, and it's subjected to less pressure to do well on network TV channels. (see other shows recently cancelled with big name stars like Harry's Law, Awake, Missing, Prime Suspect.)

And well... I was kinda hoping that Miranda Richardson would come back to TV after Rubicon got cancelled, then lo and behold she did come back to my television set tonight in World Without End! But then 40 minutes in I was kinda pissed off because, just like it's predecessor, Pillars of the Earth, the show kinda blows. (Even with Megan Follows in it, what!)

I want Tim Roth back on my tv, dammit! Lie to Me was problematic and probably cancelled at the right time, but Tim is so very fabulous and deserves better. Something like a Boardwalk Empire.
