I watch Adventure Time and I still had to look twice.

Adventure Time is pretty good at that, eh? This season particularly seems to be piling on the sympathy/empathy and analogue for irl themes. I remember that one of the parts of Pendleton Ward's pitch for the series was to make memorable or meaningful moments or episodes like those from old Simpsons, Futurama, etc.
