I'm sorry. You're right, that does sound really embarrassing.

But if he was so skittish he fled the scene before you could exchange numbers I'm sort of confused as to how he was bold enough to ask you out in the first place?

If you don't mind me asking, why was your mother's friend there? It's easier to hook up with people when you don't have parental figures (or parental friends) around, for sure

My mother and I went out for coffee and when she started talking to someone she knew I wandered off and cute guy and I struck up a conversation. I wasn't there with any intent to hook up.

I was dropping major hints in an attempt to work up the nerve to ask him out myself so I was pretty low-risk?

Also, I totally would have fled if I had some crazy guy getting in my personal space and yelling at me so I don't blame him.
