I cockblocked one of my old supervisors, and basically myself really. Dude was new to working in a photolab, so I had to essentially spend my entire shifts training him at first. Since he probably couldn't stand what I thought was a comfortable silence, he managed to wheedle me into talking about myself, and it turns out we bonded over playing video games and other nerdery like going to anime conventions. Friends! Geeks! We hung out together! Bosom bro!
Anywho, around one of the ends of my shifts, shifts he really also shouldn't have been working, and starts talking about how the bosses give the supervisors free movie tickets. I don't really give a shit because I'm dealing with rolling up some film in a blackbox, but dude is going on forever about these fucking tickets. So if he finally gets the hint that I can't take a hint, and asks if I'd like to go with him as a date to Shitty Action Film Whatever.
I kind of just look at the guy, I don't remember if I was giving him the side eye, and just say, "[REDACTED]. Sorry, but I'm not interested. And I work for you."
And he has this deer-in-headlights look. Stands there for a few seconds, doesn't say anything, and flees. Literally fled from the lab. Didn't pick up his cellphone from where he left it even. Just up and left.
He didn't work another shift with me again. Hell, our shifts never crossed after that. Wouldn't answer my texts or calls, so I guess the friendship was pretty one-sided :(
At least whenever my reviews came up, he'd just give me an automatic excellent without actually meeting me for the review. Damn, way to be stupid and unnecessarily awkward, guy!
I only say I cockblocked myself, because even if I'd never date the guy, I'd have fucked him :U
