(Anonymous) 2012-09-17 02:02 pm (UTC)(link)I'm also an introvert and for me games are sometimes a way to get away from people, so even though I talk to people about the games I like the social aspect usually doesn't come until after I've beaten the game. I don't like comparing scores or the competitive aspect of gaming either, for me gaming is a stress relief and getting competitive about it would just make my stress worse.
I just wouldn't automatically suspect people of not playing games just because they don't want to be overly involved with the online fandom.

Which was very different from how it used to be, was my point. Not that I "suspect" people are non-players or anything (in my experience it's usually pretty obvious anyway - though most people are polite enough not to say so - so if you did play but just didn't want to give out your ID, I doubt anyone would "suspect" anything at all).
