It's just contributing to the sexual objectification of children and young girls. And, then, morons jump up to defend the pedophiles right to fantasy. Well, when you indulge in fantasy to often, it becomes harder and harder to not want your fantasy to become reality. There is only so much wanting you can do before that wanting turns to desire for the real thing. Everyone who says fantasy isn't hurting anyone has no idea how the brain works. FYI a lot of characters in canon are creeped out as all hell by Char and his erm...liking of Quess. Two of them for sure, and if you count Amuro Ray, three of them.

The characters are creeped out, sure. I wish people in real life would be creeped out too.

I wish so too, anon. But then again, these are the Char fans who idolize him so much that they paint over his flaws. Some of them even blame Quess for "manipulating Char". Which misses the point so god damn far it's in another universe. Even Char's own sister acknowledged how twisted Char is in ZZ Gundam, to the point where it might be better if he died.

Char is interesting, but he's messed up. And you're supposed to see him that way.

Haha the best are the people who try to say he's younger than he really is to gloss over the ephebophilia (okay yeah, he was maybe in his early 20s when he met Lalah and she was like, 16 or 17 -- but he just kept getting older and he kept having canon relationships with teenage girls, like Haman and Quess)

I mean, I may ship Char and Quess but at least I know it's wrong and that the character is an ephebophile and a jerk... it's possible to ship fictional relationships that you know are very wrong IRL, you know

Ehh I don't know. I thought the last conversation between Char and Amuro showed pretty clearly that he found her fucking annoying and was only after her for her crazy newtype powers.
Inb4 I'm called an apologist rabid fangirl. For the record, there are a lot of things I can't forgive Char for, such as gleefully killing his innocent best friend or trying to nuke the Earth, but this? I see it as a silly joke. Also, I'm among the few who don't hate Quess, and I actually feel sorry for her and what Char puts her through.

I thought the last conversation between Char and Amuro showed pretty clearly that he found her fucking annoying and was only after her for her crazy newtype powers.

That said, I thought it was kind of ... strongly implied that he had some sort of sexual relations with her. There was that scene where she was floating around in a bedroom with him and he was wearing a bathrobe or something.

Hm, I don't seem to remember that scene (I should probably do a UC rewatch one of these days). But to be honest, I never saw Char as a very sexual person in general, and I could see that as just Char letting her hang around in order to please her while he minded his own business.

I'm curious, are you of the same opinions of power fantasises and the culture of violence so prominent in mine, and I'm sure your country?

I think violent and and power fantasies contribute negatively to society, for sure. Being accepting of violence and rape culture makes it easier for us to keep on accepting more and more.

So basically fuck any fantasies that don't make the world into a utopia is what you're saying. You sound like the type that will be revealed twenty years from now as having a hardcore fetish for all of these.

Guess who hasn't watched Char's Counterattack

Guess who doesn't know that this is considered a fault of the character by other characters (including Amuro, the hero of the series, who called Char out for manipulating Quess, who, in Amuro's words [paraphrasing here] "was only looking for a father figure")

Also, Char is pretty much the antagonist of the series
