I actually thought it was cool that the series Rome had British accents and used them to distinguish between the classes. But well, at least they also hired mostly British and Irish actors.

Yeah, that was a nice tip of the hat for viewers who are familiar with the class implications of British accents, but not necessarily with the class makeup of Roman society. That said, I'd have equally liked it if they'd had people with different accents from around the territories that made up the empire.

(And you've reminded me that I really want them to actually do the film. *drools*)
