As someone who is female and actually /prefers/ the M!Shep cover as I think there are serious flaws with the F!Shep design, however much I enjoy both versions of the character and have done multiple playthroughs as both genders. I'm also not among the "Rah rah feminism!" mindset.
I'm all for women empowerment, but tbh that shit's irritating. Your preference /=/ everyone's preference.
